Cast your mind back to lockdown.
Everyone was buying dogs to stave off Joe Wicks induced boredom.
Industry was closed so dolphins were back swimming in the Tees
And the Davie's were dreaming up and planning Survivor!
Kirsten signed up for the first one, back in April 2022 but, (how lucky am i, and how much does she regret it) she passed the entry to me - I was immediately hooked!
I've run every one so far and when Craig asked for a blog, I thought I'd share my highlights.
In no particular order:
- The mud
- The pre-race 'pruning'
- James' Strava maps
- Jon's lap times
- Kev's lap finish celebrations
- Paul's sense of direction
- The camping marshals on the night laps
- The t-shirts
- The cloud inversion / mist snaking its way up the valley next to Percy Cross Rigg at sunrise
- The fancy dress
- The Jenga
- The pizzas
- The t-shirts
- The trackers
- The trophies
- The trips and falls
- The t-shirts
- The competitor chat after every lap
- Chasing (but not catching) Jon on his 32 min lap
- Lee's nutrition sheet
- Giving my all to go as far as possible
- Giving up early to eat all the food
If you've not had a go at one you don't know what you are missing!
